The Organizers of INTERSPEECH 2020 have been monitoring closely the very dynamic developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are writing to assure you that the Technical Committee are committed to proceeding with the full technical program including our rigorous paper review process, and accepted papers will be published in the INTERSPEECH 2020 Proceedings (as well as through the ISCA Conference portal). In the meantime, we are planning that the conference itself will allow both physical as well as remote (online) participation. While we still look forward to welcoming our delegates in Shanghai, we will also plan that our conference will allow for remote (online participation) in addition to physical attendance. So authors of all accepted papers will have the option to participate in the physical conference as well as attending remotely. We are drawing from the experiences established in other conferences that are held or to be held this year, and will adapt the "no-show policy" accordingly to accommodate for broadcasted invited talks or video-based paper presentations. Rest assured that we want all to benefit from the scientific and technical advancements being presented, and that all options will be in place to ensure your safety. We encourage all to submit your latest work to INTERSPEECH 2020!
Welcome to INTERSPEECH 2020
INTERSPEECH has grown into the world's largest technical conference focused on speech processing and application with over 1000 attendees and over 600 papers. The conferences emphasize interdisciplinary approaches addressing all aspects of speech science and technology, ranging from basic theories to advanced applications.
The 21st INTERSPEECH will be staged in Shanghai International Convention Center, from October 25-29, 2020. Widely regarded as the most important cultural, commercial centers of China, Shanghai will offer a great deal of history and culture to INTERSPEECH 2020 delegates.
It is widely believed that technologies are not the only factors that restrict the development of speech processing. The emotions and the cognitive abilities are also playing a vital role in friendly and harmonious man-machine speech communication and human-oriented intelligence technologies. INTERSPEECH 2020 will therefore be organized around the topic“Cognitive Intelligence for Speech Processing”. We hope to provide a broad approach to speech processing issues. In addition to regular oral and poster sessions, this event will feature plenary talks by internationally renowned experts, tutorials, special sessions, show & tell sessions, and exhibits. A number of satellite events will also take place before and after the conference. Please follow the details which will be published at the INTERSPEECH website interspeech2020.org.
